Fractured Legacy: Excerpt 1

This is my first time participating, and luckily some of my writing friends pointed me to two groups to share my excerpts on Sundays– Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday. I’m glad you’re all here to read the first excerpt from my Paranormal Urban Fantasy, Fractured Legacy.

Fractured LegacyKaylyn pulled the covers over her head as if they could block out the sound threatening her sleep. After another series of knocks on the front door, she was left in silence again. That wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

Kaylyn held her breath, listening for the slightest indication of someone approaching.

A floorboard creaked, then her sister’s voice rang out.

“Come on Kay. You can’t avoid me when I have a key. We’re going to be late.”

  1. Welcome to the Sunday Insanity! Great snippet — I love the tension build up and then the fact that it was her sister. LOL I’m looking forward to reading more from you.

  2. Very nice. She seems pretty nervous…who besides her sister did she fear would be coming? Or is her sister just that big of a pain in the @$$? Welcome to the sunday fun! I’m fairly new myself, and happy to meet another newbie : )
